South SeaTac (SST) is actually Des Moines Creek Park in the city of SeaTac. This is a great area to come ride! There are three main places you can ride, a BMX and dirt jump area, a cross country area, and a nice downhill area with tons of jumps.

Ride this maze of trails just south of the Seatac airport. Lots of fun riding through an area that long ago used to be a neighborhood. Plenty of winding trails to spin around on and the low flying jets keep things interesting. Trails exist on both the east and west side of the SCORE jail access road. It's fairly flat and beginner-friendly on the east side of the access road; west side trails have are more advanced with more hills, berms and jumps. West side trails are accessible through gates in the chain link fence along the jail access road.

How to Find It

Take the 200th St exit off I-5. Go West down the hill. At the bottom of the hill is a golf course on the North Side of the street, the DesMoines Creek park entrance is across from that on the South Side of 200th. There is additional parking near the Pioneer Cemetery West of the SCORE jail access road.

Alternate parking at the Des Moines Library on the corner of 216th and 11th. Please park at the back of the lot to leave room for the library patrons. To get to the trails head back east on 216th and then head north on 14th to the back of the neighborhood. Go up the wooden stairs and follow the trail to the paved bike path. Head up paved bike path until you see the trails on your left. Enjoy!

Typical Conditions

Fun, not too technical trails that wind through the old neighborhoods. Lots of shorter trails that you can link together to create a pretty fun loop. Trails near the cemetery on the West side of the jail access road are downhill only and have jumps, berms and man made stunts. You can link up a 5-6 mile loop without doubling back over any trails. It's hard to get lost out here, just head east until you hit the paved bike path.

Trails are a bit sandy and drain well.

Turn by Turn

ALL DIRECTIONS ARE FROM THE 200TH ST PARKING AREA (DES MOINES CREEK TRAIL)

**NOTE: The maps are out of date. The jail at 208th street and south, so those trails no longer exist.

There are three areas. First, the cross country area is bordered by 200th St, 18th ave S (Score Rd), and the Des Moines Creek Trail. There is access directly from the Parking lot on 200th or from various locations on the creek trail. These trails are easy to ride and there are almost no jumps but you can find a few drops. The trails are not marked and they run in all directions, so have fun exploring!

Second, west of 18th Ave S (Score Rd) is a downhill area with more feautres. The top starts just west of the cemetary. Access this area through gaps in the fence along 18th Ave S or just west of the cemetary on 200th. The trails move south as they go downhill. There are many jumps, a skinny or two, and some berms. Be careful here - you cannot roll over all of the features and there are some big jumps with gaps. Also note that there are some trails that continue all the way to the jail fence but this area can be impassable after a lot of rain.

Third, to find the BMX area follow the paved path from the parking lot about 1/4 mile, it is the first stream crossing with the steep embankments. To the East of the trail. Follow the path up the hill. Great area if you have a BMX bike or a dirt jumper. The area is somewhat small but the jumps are huge and you'll have an almost infinite number of lines to choose from. *Experienced riders*
