Mostly singletrack, generally smooth, some roots, some tight turns. The trails in this area are actually made up of three different trail systems: Saratoga Woods Preserve, Putney Woods (formerly Goss Lake Woods), and Metcalf Trust. The trails are all interconnected and lots of folks refer to the trails by these different names.
The trails here are usually in pretty good shape year-round. They are snow-free nearly all of the time in winter and don't get dusty in the summer. Sometimes there can be some muddy spots after lots of rain (especially in the spring), but overall it isn't too bad.
How to Find It
There are a few routes to the trailhead from hwy 525. Use the google maps link to choose the route that best suits your direction of travel. It's not that far from the ferry landing in Clinton. Ferry line can be very long on summer Sunday afternoons.
Google maps doesn't display that area very well, so here's a common way to get to the main trailhead on Saratoga Rd.
Head west off the ferry to Bayview; right on Baview to Andreason. Left on Andreason to Lone Lake rd; right on Lone Lake rd. Take Lone Lake rd to Saratoga rd and turn right. You'll see the trail head on the right about a mile down the road; look for a covered structure past the gravel parking lot.
There are portapotties at this trailhead, others have no facilities.

Local Points of Interest
The closest town is Langley, which can be reached by heading SW on Saratoga Road. There are a few places to eat in town including Village Pizzeria, Prima Bistro, Mo's Pub, and The Braeburn.
Half Link Bike Shop is the best (and only) bike shop on the south end of Whidbey Island. It is located at Bayview corner, just off of Hwy 525. David (the owner) is a great guy and can hook you up with maps or other trail info.
There is also a new pump track at South Whidbey Community Park.
