How to Find It
On Whidbey Island just north of Coupeville, take Libby Rd. and follow signs to Ft. Ebey State Park. Park at gun battery for access to bathrooms.
Typical Conditions
Most trails are well drained so there's very little mud. Good ol' fashioned cross country trail riding with roots, rocks, switchbacks and some beautiful forested areas.
Local Points of Interest
There are plenty of services and restaurants in nearby Coupeville. Of course the island is home to the famous Penn Cove mussels so don't miss out on a chance for some fresh ones.
Advocacy & Stewardship
The trail system is maintained by the state parks department and the adjacent Kettles Property is managed by Island County.
Turn by Turn
From the Gun Battery parking lot you can head south through the campground and you'll quickly spot single track running down the ridge on your left. Those trails go eastward and connect with the rest of the network in the Kettles property. Bring a map along, it's easy to get turned around.
