Etiquette / Unsanctioned Trails

Unsanctioned,
Pirate & Rogue Trails.

Unsanctioned trails — sometimes called pirate, rogue, or social trails — are built without permission from the land manager. Riding or building them puts access for all riders at risk, even when the intent is good.

Beyond access risk, unsustainable trail construction causes lasting damage: unplanned drainage leads to erosion, routes through sensitive habitat disrupt animal migration corridors, and trails built without cultural consultation can cross areas of tribal significance.

If you want more trail, the right move is to get involved with Evergreen. We know how to work with land managers to get trails approved, built sustainably, and kept open for the long term.
