On multi-use trails, bikers yield to hikers and horses. Slow down, communicate clearly, and pass with care. A friendly "on your left" goes a long way.

Travel at a speed that allows you to stop safely. Speed that's fine on a singletrack flow trail may be dangerous on a shared family hiking path. Read the context.
