01 / Regional Overview
Where we ride.
The Southwest chapter maintains, improves, and expands mountain biking opportunities across southwest Washington. Formerly known as Cold Creek MTB, the chapter rebranded in 2018 to expand its advocacy footprint across the region. The southwest corner of Washington — from the Columbia River gorge to the Gifford Pinchot foothills — offers a mix of forest trails, lake-edge singletrack, and remote alpine terrain.
Signature trail areas include Bells Mountain above the Columbia River, Cold Creek in the Yacolt Burn, Lacamas Lake Regional Park near Camas, and the Siouxon Creek area in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The chapter runs regular work parties and connects riders across Clark, Skamania, and Cowlitz counties.
Southwest Washington is often rideable year-round — the region's mix of elevations means there's almost always somewhere to ride regardless of the season.
