Kittitas.

Building a trail system in the Kittitas Valley that puts mountain biking at the center.

01 / Regional Overview

Where we ride.

The Kittitas chapter works to build trail systems that prioritize mountain biking qualities across the Kittitas Valley, surrounded by vast state and federal public lands. The region suffers from a shortage of legal, mountain bike-specific trails — the chapter exists to change that through design, advocacy, and partnerships with land managers.

Current signature systems include Kachess Ridge, the Manastash Ridge Trails near Ellensburg, and Rat Pac. The chapter's work focuses on creating trails that are sustainably built and enjoyable for riders of all abilities, while remaining accessible to other user types.

The Kittitas Valley offers some of the driest, most consistently rideable conditions in western Washington — cold creek soils and high-desert terrain that hold up across the seasons.
