01 / Regional Overview
Where we ride.
The Cowlitz-Naches chapter represents mountain bikers across the south Washington Cascades, covering trails in the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District (Gifford Pinchot National Forest) and the Naches Ranger District (Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest). The chapter's mission is to organize the local mountain biking community, establish sustained relationships with land managers, and promote expanded access in the region.
Signature trail areas include Goat Mountain, Hamilton Buttes, Osborne Mountain, and the Tieton River Trail — a mix of technical alpine rides and accessible cross-country terrain spread across two national forests.
Work parties run seasonally across these national forest systems. Showing up is the single best way to support trail access in the south Cascades.
